The PFH is created within the framework of the Hunger Free Latin America and the Caribbean Initiative (HFLACI), a political commitment of the region countries towards the fight against hunger, mlanutrition and food insecurity.
This Initiative (MsH) constitutes an offer of international cooperation to strengthen actions on Food and Nutrition Security in 9 countries in the Mesoamerica region.

The fronts seek to address how the work of the legislative sphere may favor the establishment of legal frameworks that promote family farming as a strategic sector for achieving food security.
This line of work includes legislative actions that help protect and ensure healthy nutrition in areas such as the right to information and the promotion of healthy eating habits, amongst others.
During the last two regional forums, the PFH's have been reiterative in the idea that legislating on climate change is a priority when facing the challenge of eradicating food and nutrition insecurity.
